Elstead Ward is a 30-bed ward, specialising in the care of older people and is also a part of the wider Older People’s Unit (OPU) alongside Eashing Ward. It also falls under the Access and Medicine Division.
Elstead Ward has a multidisciplinary team consisting of doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, case managers and social services, all of whom have the aim to provide holistic and inclusive care. They also have input from other services such as Dietitians, Speech and Language Therapists and other services as required.
Patients are admitted either directly from the Emergency Department or from the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) or Hindhead Short Stay. The ward has a total of four bays, split into two female and male bays. They also have six cubicles. The length of stay varies, depending on the patient’s clinical condition and care needs following discharge.

Elstead Ward is located at our Guildford hospital in the East Wing, Level D. When entering the hospital using the main entrance, proceed straight ahead. Continue past reception located on the right of the foyer. Bear right and proceed down to the end of the corridor. Take the East Wing lifts to Level D. On exiting the lifts turn left and then right and Frensham Ward and Elstead Ward is located straight ahead.
