Eashing Ward is a 30-bed ward specialising in the care of older people as part of the Older People’s Unit (OPU) under the Access and Medicine Division. The ward is run by a multidisciplinary team which includes physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, case managers and social services and with input from dietitians, speech and language therapists among others. Together, our healthcare professionals provide care with a holistic approach.

Patients are admitted either directly from the Emergency Department, from the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) or Hindhead Short Stay. There are 12 beds that are specifically dedicated to patients with dementia called 'forget me not' bays. These provide effective individualised care where staff and the environment are considerate of these special needs. The multi-disciplinary team is very proactive and passionate about improving our patients’ experience through different creative projects and initiatives.
