Paediatric Gastroenterology

Management and Support of children and young people with gastroenterology issues. We provide:

  • General paediatric gastroenterology clinics (consultant delivered).
  • Coeliac multi-disciplinary clinics, where consultants and dietitians work together with patients and their families to support them in managing their condition.
  • Tertiary joint gastroenterology clinics, led by Dr Hanci, Dr Njenga and Dr Batra (visiting Paediatric Gastroenterologist), a paediatric gastroenterology clinical nurse specialist and a dietitian.
  • Transition gastroenterology clinics, led by Dr Hanci, Dr Njenga and Dr Banks (Adult Gastroenterologist), an adult inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) clinical nurse specialist, Dr Batra (visiting paediatric gastroenterologist), a paediatric gastroenterology clinical nurse specialist and a dietitian.

 We take referrals from GPs and other hospital services.

Children and adolescents up to the age of 18.

We are located in our Guildford hospital: Outpatients 6, Children’s Unit, Level B, Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford.

  • Dr Ozan Hanci, Paediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease Lead and Consultant Paediatrician with Special Interest (SPIN) accreditation in paediatric gastroenterology hepatology and nutrition.
  • Dr Natasha Njenga, Consultant Paediatrician with interest in Paediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition.
  • Mrs Rachel Vallis, Paediatric Dietitian
  • Dr Akshay Batra, visiting Paediatric Gastroenterologist from Southampton Hospital
