Infection Control Team receive national recognition

Our Infection Control Team has received national recognition after their exceptional work in response to Covid-19.

The Esteem recognition scheme celebrates those who have gone above and beyond during these extraordinary times. The team received their recognition for their tireless efforts to ensure the safe placement and care of suspected and confirmed Covid-19 patients on our wards.

They have kept essential action cards updated in line with ever-changing guidelines and provided training sessions for our staff on donning, doffing and fit testing, among a number of other actions to keep our staff and patients safe.

Jacqui Tingle, Director of Infection Prevention and Control, said; “I am so proud of how my team have worked to fight this new and unknown virus. They have gone out of their way to ensure all of our clinical staff members are providing safe care to our patients, and worked outside their usual working hours to make this happen. They have been at the centre of Covid-19 this whole time and have been critical in making our hospital a safe environment.”
