Executive Directors

The Executive Directors are chaired by the CEO and comprises other senior management appointed by the Board. The Executive Directors meet regularly to address matters concerning the Trust, including matters on strategy and operational management, as well as any issues regarding staff or patients.

The Executive Directors regularly speak with patients and staff, listening to their views, ideas and concerns.

Matt Jarratt - Chief Operating Officer

Matt Jarratt - Associate Director of Operations Access and Medicine

Matt has been with the Royal Surrey since 2019, first as Associate Director of Operations (ADO) for Access and Medicine, and since April 2022 as Chief Operating Officer. During his period as ADO he worked as part of the divisional leadership team to oversee an improvement in the divisional CQC rating of the Division of Access and Medicine from ‘good’ to ‘outstanding’, and led the operations of the division through the Covid-19 pandemic.

His earlier career includes senior operational and commercial management roles in acute and community NHS services in Surrey and South London, and in adult social care, including working in general management roles at St George’s NHS Foundation Trust, and as an executive director at CSH Surrey, a specialist provider of adult community services. He holds a first degree in History (BA Hons) and a postgraduate degree in Policy Studies (MSc).
