Kidney cancer

Kidney cancer is the seventh most common tumour group and affects around 13,300 people in the UK each year (CRUK 2020).  It is usually diagnosed incidentally, when people are being investigated for other things. Symptoms can include blood in the urine, a dull ache in the back or it can be symptomless.  There are many subtypes of kidney cancer the most common is clear cell, but smaller categories include papillary, chromophobe and sarcomatoid.  It mainly affects men over the age of 65.
