Nurse and Midwives - Reena George

Reena George - Nurses and Midwives Staff Governor

I am a Nurse in charge on Clandon Ward. I’ve been a member of Royal Surrey family since 2010; however, my relationship with NHS goes back to 2005 when I began NHS career as a full time nurse after my adaptation nurse training.

Since I qualified as a nurse in India in 1994, I worked in a military hospital for six years in Saudi Arabia and also in a highly challenging environment in India; before I became an adaptation nurse in the UK.

I am also one of the “Freedom to Speak up Champions” at the Royal Surrey, a volunteering role that focuses on creating a happy and safe environment that encourages our colleagues to speak up.

I believe patient care is as important as staff welfare. I am proud to say that Royal Surrey has supported me the most, by encouraging equality and diversity. As an experienced nurse and as FTSU champion and as an elected governor, I shall strive and work to contribute towards the wellbeing of our staff members, and in turn the success of our Trust.

I am approachable and empathetic. I am motivated to represent the interests of my fellow staff members in Nursing and Midwifery. I believe I could inspire my colleagues and be transparent in promoting the collective voice of my constituents without any personal agenda.
