Executive Directors

The Executive Directors are chaired by the CEO and comprises other senior management appointed by the Board. The Executive Directors meet regularly to address matters concerning the Trust, including matters on strategy and operational management, as well as any issues regarding staff or patients.

The Executive Directors regularly speak with patients and staff, listening to their views, ideas and concerns.

Louise Stead - Chief Executive

Louise Stead - Chief Executive

Louise was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the Trust in September 2018.  Prior to this she was the Deputy Chief Executive Officer and was Director of Nursing from 2011, where she was pivotal to the Trust achieving a ‘good’ rating from the Care Quality Commission in 2018.  Louise is a specialist advisor to the Care Quality Commission and has participated in carrying out well led reviews at other NHS trusts.

As Chief Executive Officer, Louise proactively works with system partners to enable the Trust to improve quality of care for patients, for example, as Chair of the Surrey Heartlands Provider Collaborative and Chair of the Surrey and Sussex Cancer Alliance.

Louise originally qualified as a registered nurse in 1988.  With a varied career in a number of London teaching hospitals Louise is an experienced nurse in cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, hepatobiliary and pancreatic medicine and surgery, haematology and coronary care.  She has an MSc in Professional Practice (Leadership and Management) and is a visiting professor at the University of Surrey.
